Happy Halloween

We just got back from TrIcK or TReAtINg on Main Street, it was Cael's first time and he really didn't care but it was still fun. I had Aunt Jen take Cael's picture in his Halloween Costume and I seriously love these - just wanted to wish everyone a hAPpy HaLLoWeEN!

My Big Deer

I had a tag this year but we didn't go hunting until last Thursday - Layne went up on the mountain with the boys on the opening Saturday and Cael and I stayed back at camp. So Layne took me out and we hadn't even unloaded the 4-wheeler and he spotted some deer - he can spot deer anywhere it's amazing. We found this two point and he got me all set up to shoot and I missed! It took off and we saw it a little ways away and it was just standing there so I shot again and it dropped, it was the coolest thing ever!! So here's a picture of my latest kill!

Cael's New Trick

A couple of weeks ago we were at church teaching our Sunday School class and Cael started to do this sniffing thing with his nose - don't ask me where he got it from but it is so funny! At first he would only do it sporadically but now we laugh at him when he does it so he does it all of the time, he's our little entertainer! The movie clip isn't very long, but it is so funny - it took me a minute to get him to do it but you will seriously laugh out loud when you see his new trick!

~New Larsen Family Tradition~ FAILED!

I decided this October that Layne & I would watch one scary movie every week to get us into the mood for Halloween. Layne thought I was crazy but there are a lot of classics that need to be watched like Halloween with Michael Myers, Friday the 13th, Psycho, Saw, and there are a lot of new movies that I haven't seen. So last night we went to bed and started to watch a scary movie called "Dead Silence" it was about this ventriloquist doll that came to life (sort of) but people were being killed whenever it was around. Anyways we're laying in bed and I'm kind of freaking out because it was starting to get creepy , they were in a morgue- and my bodyguard (Layne) is dead asleep! I hit him in the guts and told him to wake up so we could finish the movie - I was not watching it alone! So we kept on watching and then I hear this bear growling and Layne is asleep again! So all in all I had to turn the movie off because I can't watch it in the dark all by myself and our new family tradition has officially failed because I am not watching these movies alone. (Yes I'm a baby but no normal person can like watching creepy movies by themselves!) I don't care what you say - that doll is freaky! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

8. Who is taller? He is but in junior high he wasn't and had to stand on a rock to kiss me!!
9. Who sings better? Oh Layne does, he actually sings really well but plays "tough guy."
10. Who is smarter? It depends, he has a lot more common sense (I say stupid things, and I do stupid things like get lost in the dark, and trip over my feet) But I'm pretty smart too, I think it's a tie.
11. Who's temper is worse? Me - I go a little crazy sometimes and he just sits there and laughs!
12. Who does the laundry? I do, but he'll help fold and put them away.
13. Who does the dishes? Neither of us - we use paper plates & plastic cups - we hate doing dishes! Except for washing Cael's bottles, we do that daily.
14. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Layne does but sometimes we switch, and sometimes we don't sleep together because he works a lot of graveyards so I get the whole bed to myself!!
15. Who pays the bills? We do it together, since I don't make any money anymore he wants to know where his money is going!
16. Who mows the lawn? I do - I love it, but sometimes he does, we take turns.
17. Who cooks dinner? Depends on what it is, but I do. Who am I kidding we eat out a lot!!
18. Who drives when you are together? Layne drives in the dark - I can't see very well, but I drive a lot, he drives all day in his cop car so he likes to just sit there.

21. What do you admire most about him? That Cael and I are the most important thing in his life.

Mascot Bowl

Cael & I went to the Mascot Bowl at the high school last week, we didn't really go for the football game. They were honoring Captain Terry at the beginning of the game and so all of the police officers were asked to be there, so we went to watch Layne. But while there we got our picture taken with the Denver Broncos mascot - because according to Layne they're the best!

It was so great to see all of the police officers walk out onto the field together, I don't think a lot of people realize how much the police department does for the community. They see a lot of problems in Lehi and they work the most awful hours in the world but their job is to keep Lehi safe, and for that I'm greatful. We have been so blessed being on the police department, it's like one big family and Layne has been able to work with some awesome officers.

Cael is 6 Months!

Cael turned 6 months on the 29th and I seriously can't believe it. We went yesterday to the doctor for his checkup and to get shots (oh man he was so mad at the nurses!) He weighed 21 pounds and is 28 inches long - he is such a big boy!! Who would have ever thought that our 2 week early, sick baby who had to be in intensive care would turn out to be such a bruiser! We have been so blessed, he's been so healthy and he is the happiest baby! If he has a nap & a full belly he's good to go. Here are some pictures of my little cowboy!!
